Provincetown Family Week 2026 returns for another inspiring week of connection from July 25 through August 1. Recognized as the largest annual gathering of LGBTQ+ families, this beloved tradition transforms Provincetown into a vibrant hub of family-centered programming, offering a welcoming and affirming space where families of all identities can gather, build friendships, and create lifelong memories.

Throughout the week, attendees can expect everything from educational workshops and affinity gatherings to beach parties, drag performances, whale watches, youth camps, dance parties, and one of Provincetown’s most joyful parades. Family Week blends fun and celebration with meaningful opportunities for connection, making it one of the most special summer events in Provincetown.

Provincetown Family Week 2026 Event Highlights

  • Family Week begins with arrivals, registration, and the first opportunities for families to connect. Guests can check in, visit the community resource fair, and enjoy poolside social events before the official kickoff. A festive drag brunch, games for children, and an opening ceremony at Provincetown Town Hall set the tone for the week ahead. Evening comedy programming provides a lively and entertaining conclusion to opening day.

  • Monday introduces the daily rhythm of Family Week with yoga for parents, family wellness activities, and children’s programming. Parents can participate in affinity groups and workshops while younger attendees enjoy age-specific events and camp activities. Highlights include family yoga sessions, creative splash activities, drag storytime, and teen-focused social gatherings, ensuring every family member has opportunities to engage.

  • Tuesday offers a balance of education, wellness, and social events. Families can participate in whale education camps, yoga, and support gatherings designed for diverse family experiences, including BIPOC, trans, and non-binary communities. One of the week’s signature events, the Beach Bash at Herring Cove Beach, brings families together for an unforgettable afternoon by the ocean. The day concludes with a family-friendly movie night.

  • Midweek programming encourages exploration and connection through activities like treasure hunts, whale-focused day camps, sandcastle competitions, and educational sessions. Family Night serves as one of the week’s biggest social highlights, featuring games, themed entertainment, performances, and community celebration.   • Thursday showcases Provincetown’s coastal beauty with opportunities for whale watching, outdoor family activities, and sports.   • Friday marks one of the most anticipated moments of Family Week with the Family Pride Parade. Families gather for a celebratory pre-party, group photos, and then take over Commercial Street in a joyful, colorful procession that highlights love, visibility, and pride. This uplifting parade is a defining Family Week tradition and one of Provincetown’s most meaningful summer spectacles. The celebration continues with music, dancing, and a final family dance party.

What started as a small gathering among vacationing families in Provincetown has grown into an internationally recognized event that now welcomes hundreds of families each year. 

Today, Family Week continues to thrive as a cornerstone LGBTQ+ event, drawing hundreds of families each year for a week of connection, education, and celebration. From its humble beginnings to welcoming nearly 600 families and more than 1,300 participants in recent years, Family Week remains a powerful reflection of how community, acceptance, and shared experiences can grow into a lasting tradition.
