Juneteenth Provincetown

Juneteenth in Provincetown, taking place June 19–21, 2026, is a powerful and meaningful celebration honoring the end of slavery in the United States. Rooted in the historic events of June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom. This weekend serves as both a commemoration and a call to reflect on the ongoing journey toward equity and justice. The event brings together history, culture, and community in a setting that is both educational and deeply inspiring.

Throughout the weekend, attendees can engage in a dynamic lineup of speakers, performances, and community gatherings featuring local Black and African American voices. The celebration is driven by a coalition of Black/African Americans, Jamaican and Jamaican-American communities, Indigenous persons, people of color, youth leaders, and allies, all coming together to uplift stories, foster dialogue, and celebrate resilience. Juneteenth in Provincetown is not only a cultural event, it is a unifying experience that highlights the importance of remembrance, representation, and collective progress.
