Province Post Affordable Housing Lottery Opens for Provincetown Apartments
A major step toward addressing Provincetown’s year-round housing shortage is underway. Applications are open for the affordable apartment lottery at Province Post, a new residential community currently under construction at 3 Jerome Smith Road in Provincetown.
This development will bring dozens of new year-round rental homes to the community and represents one of the most significant additions of housing in Provincetown in decades.
Affordable Housing Lottery Timeline
Applications for the affordable apartments open March 12, 2026, and must be submitted by May 11, 2026.
Key dates include:
Application period: March 12 – May 11, 2026
Housing lottery drawing: May 18, 2026 at 11:00AM
Expected move-in timeline: Beginning summer 2026
The lottery will be held virtually and recorded, with a public viewing option available at Provincetown Town Hall.

Information Sessions for Applicants
To help residents understand the application process, two hybrid information sessions will be held at Provincetown Town Hall and online:
March 18, 2026, 4:00 - 6:00PM
April 4, 2026, 10:00AM - 12:00PM
These sessions will cover eligibility requirements, documentation needed for the application, and details about the lottery process.

Who Can Apply
Households must meet established minimum and maximum income guidelines to qualify for the affordable units. The apartments are intended for residents whose incomes fall within specific ranges based on Area Median Income (AMI) levels. A local preference may apply for qualifying applicants who live or work in Provincetown, helping prioritize members of the local workforce.

Applications can be completed online or by submitting a paper application, and must be submitted or postmarked no later than May 11, 2026 11:59PM.
