Mates Leather Weekend returns to Provincetown October 1-5, 2026, bringing five days of leather, rubber, uniforms, parties, social events, shopping, and community to venues throughout town.
Now celebrating its 29th year, Mates Leather Weekend, often called MLW, has become one of Provincetown’s signature fall events. The weekend combines nightlife and themed parties with daytime gatherings, the Leather Market, the annual First Mate Contest, a cookout, health services, and plenty of opportunities to meet people from throughout the leather and fetish community.

About Mates Leather Weekend in Provincetown
Mates Leather Weekend is an annual Provincetown gathering centered around the leather, rubber, uniform, and fetish communities. Rather than focusing on a single event, MLW takes place throughout town with parties, receptions, contests, shopping, dining, and social gatherings scheduled across the long weekend.
The event is organized by longtime Provincetown resident and leatherman Rick Conley and is designed to offer a relaxed mix of socializing and nightlife. The organizers describe the weekend as an opportunity to hang out, meet new friends, relax, or party with others who share an interest in leather, rubber, and uniforms.
Mates Leather Weekend has also developed a strong charitable component. A portion of Event Pass proceeds benefits the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, and free health screening and testing is scheduled throughout the weekend at the Provincetown Drop-In Center.

The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod will offer free health screening and testing throughout the day. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are also available.
Prime the Pump
Time: 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: Bay Cafe, 177 Commercial Street
Cost: No cover
Start Mates Leather Weekend with cocktails, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and a casual opportunity to reconnect with friends or meet other attendees before the late-night events begin.
Boot Camp

Location: Atlantic House (A-house), 6 Masonic Place
Cost: $10 cover; free with a 2025 MLW T-shirt
Thursday night shifts into party mode at the Atlantic House. Expect boots, music from DJ Wayne Michael, the outdoor patio, and boot shining from MLW Resident Bootblack Jay Falcon.

What to Wear to Mates Leather Weekend
