Pet Appreciation Weekend: Blessing, Parade & T-Dance!
September 26–27, 2026
Pet Appreciation Weekend brings some of Provincetown’s four-legged residents and visitors into the spotlight for a fun-filled weekend around town. Pets dress up and join the festivities along Commercial Street, while owners and spectators gather for the Blessing of the Animals, Pet Parade, and an afternoon Pet T-Dance at the Boatslip.
The weekend also supports an important local cause: the Carrie A. Seaman Animal Shelter (CASAS), a volunteer-run, no-kill shelter serving animals on the Lower Cape. Through donations and fundraising events like Pet Appreciation Weekend, CASAS provides care and a safe place for animals while they wait to find permanent homes.
Saturday, September 26: Pet Parade, Blessing & T-Dance
Saturday’s festivities begin at St. Mary of the Harbor, 517 Commercial Street, with Pet Parade registration from 2:00–2:15 PM, followed by the Blessing of the Animals at 2:30 PM. At 3:00 PM, pets and their people will head down Commercial Street for the Pet Parade, making their way to the Boatslip at 161 Commercial Street.
The celebration continues with the Pet T-Dance from 4:00–6:00 PM at the Boatslip, including costume judging for participating pets. Admission is $10 and ID is required. The weekend benefits the Carrie A. Seaman Animal Shelter, with the Grand Prize Raffle drawing taking place at CASAS on Sunday, September 27.
