About the Provincetown International Women’s Flag Football Tournament
The Ptown Classic is part of the International Women’s Flag Football Association’s international tournament program.
Founded in 1997, the IWFFA works to expand opportunities for women and girls in flag football. Its programs bring together players from different countries, ages, backgrounds, and experience levels while promoting athletic development, leadership, confidence, teamwork, and camaraderie.
In Provincetown, those goals translate into a tournament weekend that combines organized competition with opportunities for players to meet, socialize, and experience the town together.
The 2026 tournament uses the IWFFA’s traditional 8-on-8 flag football format. Eight teams are expected to compete, with preliminary games on Saturday followed by higher and lower divisions for Sunday’s single-elimination rounds.
Visitors do not need to be players to enjoy the weekend. The games at Motta Field offer an opportunity to see the tournament in action and support the participating teams.
