Provincetown Women’s Week 2026
October 12-18, 2026
Provincetown Women’s Week returns October 12-18, 2026, bringing a full week of entertainment, community gatherings, arts, culture, and social events to the Outer Cape. While Monday marks the official start of Women’s Week, programming begins during the preceding weekend, making October 9–18 a great time to plan a fall trip to Provincetown.
Women’s Week is one of Provincetown’s signature October celebrations and one of the largest annual gatherings for LGBTQ+ women in town. Visitors can choose from hundreds of events, including comedy shows, live music, author talks, theater, films, dances, workshops, wellness activities, outdoor excursions, and opportunities to meet people from around the country.
With events taking place at venues throughout Provincetown, no two Women’s Week trips have to look the same. You can fill your calendar with performances and parties or leave plenty of time to enjoy Provincetown during one of the most beautiful times of the year.
About Provincetown Women’s Week
Women’s Week has been part of Provincetown’s fall calendar for more than four decades. What began through the efforts of women innkeepers in town developed into a much larger celebration of women, community, creativity, and LGBTQ+ culture.
Today, Women’s Week brings together performers, comedians, musicians, writers, filmmakers, business owners, and visitors for programming throughout Provincetown.
Entertainment remains a major part of the week, but Women’s Week is about much more than nightlife. Literary events, community conversations, workshops, wellness activities, outdoor adventures, dining events, and informal social gatherings give visitors plenty of ways to participate.
For 2026, scheduled performers include Cris Williamson, Judy Gold, Poppy Champlin, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Suede, Lisa Koch, Melissa Ferrick, BETTY, Zoë Lewis, Vickie Shaw, and many others.

The Women’s Week Tea Dance takes place at the Boatslip from 4:00–7:00 PM, followed by an evening of entertainment around town. Scheduled performers include Lisa Koch, Suzanne Westenhoefer, and Poppy Champlin.

Afterward, the celebration moves back into town, where performances and social events continue into the evening, including a Women’s Week Welcome Party at Pilgrim House.
Tuesday, October 13
Tuesday offers a broad selection of daytime and evening activities, from wellness and outdoor excursions to comedy, music, and social gatherings.

The evening brings attendees together for dinner while offering a preview of some of the entertainers appearing during Women’s Week.
Wednesday, October 14
Wednesday's schedule includes another Women’s Week favorite: Lesbo Bingo.
The event takes place at Provincetown Town Hall from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM and features comedian Vickie Shaw.
Throughout the rest of the day, visitors can choose from film screenings, workshops, wellness activities, sailing, whale watching, concerts, social gatherings, and evening entertainment at venues across town.

Thursday combines entertainment with one of the traditions that makes Women’s Week distinctive: its strong literary presence.
The Women’s Week Book Fair is scheduled to take place at Provincetown Town Hall, bringing writers, readers, publishers, and visitors together for a day centered around books and storytelling.
Another major event is the Olivia Travel Brunch with Cris Williamson, Karen Williams, and Vickie Shaw at the Crown & Anchor.

Friday, October 16

Entertainment continues throughout Provincetown into Friday night.
Saturday, October 17

Saturday night brings another busy lineup of comedy, concerts, parties, and performances at venues throughout Provincetown.
Sunday, October 18 — Closing Day
Women’s Week concludes on Sunday, but there is still plenty happening before the celebration comes to an end.
Scheduled events include the Dyke Drag Brunch at the Crown & Anchor, along with whale watching, sailing, programming at Womencrafts, and a performance by BETTY at the Post Office Cabaret.
If you are staying through Sunday night, consider leaving part of the day open to enjoy Provincetown itself. Have brunch, explore Commercial Street, visit the galleries and shops, or take a walk along the waterfront before wrapping up your Women’s Week trip.
Visiting Women’s Week Solo
Traveling to Provincetown alone shouldn't keep you from experiencing Women’s Week.
The schedule includes gatherings specifically designed to make meeting other attendees easier. Daily Singles Mingle events provide an informal place for solo visitors to connect, while other activities throughout the week offer plenty of opportunities to meet people naturally.
Workshops, connection circles, dances, community events, and smaller group activities can also be good choices for anyone visiting Provincetown on their own.
Women’s Week Headquarters
If this is your first Women’s Week, consider making the official headquarters one of your first stops.
Located at 256 Commercial Street, Women’s Week Headquarters serves as an information point during much of the celebration. Visitors can stop in for the official program, learn about what's happening around town, ask questions, and browse Women’s Week merchandise.
Open 11:00AM - 4:00PM, Monday October 12 - Saturday October 17.
More Than 300 Events Throughout the Week
The size of the Women’s Week calendar is one of the things that makes the celebration unique.
Rather than revolving around a single venue or headline event, Women’s Week spreads throughout Provincetown. On any given day, you might attend an author discussion in the morning, take a harbor sail in the afternoon, head to Tea Dance before dinner, and finish the evening with comedy or live music.
Recurring programming includes social gatherings, wellness activities, films, author events, workshops, live performances, outdoor excursions, and opportunities to connect with other Women’s Week attendees.
Because new events can be added and details can change, always consult the official calendar when planning your day.

What Is Provincetown Like During Women’s Week?
October offers a different side of Provincetown than visitors experience during July and August. The pace around town begins to slow, but major fall events such as Women’s Week keep Commercial Street, restaurants, entertainment venues, galleries, and shops active.
The weather can vary considerably. A sunny October afternoon can be beautiful for walking Commercial Street or visiting the beach, while evenings near the water can become chilly. Layers are particularly useful if your plans include outdoor activities or the Herring Cove bonfire.
Fall also makes it easier to combine Women’s Week with some of Provincetown's outdoor attractions. Consider visiting Race Point or Herring Cove, walking through the dunes, biking the Province Lands trails, or simply spending an afternoon exploring town between scheduled events.
Getting Around During Women’s Week
One of the advantages of attending an event in Provincetown is how much you can do without a car.
Many Women’s Week venues are located in or around the center of town and can easily be reached on foot. Town Hall, the Crown & Anchor, Post Office Cabaret, Womencrafts, Pilgrim House, Waters Edge Cinema, and many other participating locations are concentrated near Commercial Street.

Make Women’s Week a Provincetown Fall Getaway
Don't feel like every hour of your trip needs to be scheduled.
Women’s Week is also an opportunity to experience Provincetown in the fall. Leave some room between events to explore Commercial Street, visit local galleries, have a leisurely dinner, walk the beaches, visit the Pilgrim Monument, or head onto the water for a whale watch.
